Time to change ‘colonial’ Australian flag – Ray Martin

The quote below is from an article that was posted on the news.com.au website this morning. It appears Ray Martin doesn’t appreciate the Commonwealth Constitution, and considers it and our flag as childish.

Martin said yesterday he would lead a campaign to replace the existing “colonial” flag.

“I object to having the British flag in the corner of our flag,” he said.

“We have well and truly reached the point where we should have our own flag. I think we have to grow up and move on to the next stage,”

Martin’s bold campaign comes as Labour Party sources confirmed the Rudd Government, if re-elected later this year, will hold a referendum on a republic.

A link to the Voice of the Australian Constitution below was submitted as a comment to the above article this morning, it will be interesting to see whether it actually gets published as it encourages people to be informed about Australia’s history and the constitution’s  significance in protecting the people from corruption when understood and used correctly.
